10 steps later he broke up with me

I came across a great post today called 38 Interesting Questions To Ask Your Mom Right Now. I thought I’d answer a few of the questions they asked and hope that you might answer them too.

My other posts that are answers to this list of questions are:

Here are the next two questions from the list. Feel free to answer them in the comments. I’m loving getting to know my readers!

7. What was your hardest breakup like?

I think with most people the answer will always be your first relationship break up. I know that my first real college boyfriend experience was the hardest one to get through, but one from my elementary school days when we were just learning about what a boyfriend and girlfriend were probably had more impact on me later in life.

My first crush asked me to be his girlfriend while walking home from school. Literally 10 steps later he broke up with me. At the time I don’t think he realized how serious I took that conversation, but I think deep down it effected me for years. When someone was interested in me I always thought back to that moment and I know I messed up more than one relationship because I didn’t take the guy seriously when he did actually like me!

8. Growing up, what did you think you wanted to do for a living?

I wanted to be a teacher for a lot of my childhood. I even started my teaching credential and I found out that I hated it! Not the teaching part. I love being in the classroom with the kids helping them, but the amount of hoops and restrictions on what you can and can’t do in a classroom really makes it hard to keep that job being a fun one.

My heart goes out to teachers who are struggling through this time of distance learning and hybrid teaching!

I can’t wait to see what the rest of the list of questions brings out! Hope you enjoy getting to know me…I hope I learn more about you too!

I’m Patty Gordon, a 40+ year old school lunch lady married to a crane mechanic. Our days are anything but normal as he works “construction worker hours” and I take care of our two elementary school aged kids, Chihuahua Mr Biggs, Pitbull Cali, and French Bulldog MooMoo. I blogged a few years ago under different names but have landed with the 365MomMe.com name this time around. The term 365MomMe comes from the idea that I’m a mom and I’m me 365 days a year. Kids call me Mommy but I see myself as MomMe.
