Maybe when my kids get older

I came across a great post today called 38 Interesting Questions To Ask Your Mom Right Now. I thought I’d answer a few of the questions they asked and hope that you might answer them too.

I started this earlier this week with NOT SURE IF THIS REALLY HAPPENED OR NOT.

3. What was your relationship with your own parents like?

I think it was pretty typical. As a girl I always seem closer to my mom than my dad. She’s very laid back and just seems to go with the flow. I love them both equally but my dad and I always have different ways of thinking about things. I always say that my dad and I could go on a trip from Point A to Point B. Neither of us would go the same route. His mindset that is that he’s always got the most efficient way to do things so even though we both got there and got there at the same time, if I didn’t go his way then somehow I was wrong. I don’t fault him for it. I swear if I was to do an enneagram test on him I’m sure I’d come up with a very telling answer as to why this is. So instead of dwelling on it, I’ve come to the point of us being able to agree about disagreeing. I take his advice as much as I can, but sometimes it’s not exactly something that fits my life so I take the good and leave the rest.

What’s something you always wanted to do but didn’t ― and why didn’t you?

I still want to be a published author. I have plans for a novel and I’m sure it’ll be a good one, but the time to actually write it all is limited. Maybe when my kids get older and I have less day to day (minute to minute) involvement with them I’ll be able to get it done. I guess for now it’s not totally out of the question, but for the moment it’s on pause.

I’d love to get to know you. Answer these questions in the comments and I’ll write back!

I’m Patty Gordon, a 40+ year old school lunch lady married to a crane mechanic. Our days are anything but normal as he works “construction worker hours” and I take care of our two elementary school aged kids, Chihuahua Mr Biggs, Pitbull Cali, and French Bulldog MooMoo. I blogged a few years ago under different names but have landed with the 365MomMe.com name this time around. The term 365MomMe comes from the idea that I’m a mom and I’m me 365 days a year. Kids call me Mommy but I see myself as MomMe.

  2. Answering your question What’s something you always wanted to do but didn’t ― and why didn’t you? There should never be anything that you want to do or is not able to do, As we have just one life I feel we should live it to the fullest and achieve the heights we want to coz we are not going to get another chance or another life so live it with no regrets.
