It is a 24/7 job for the rest of your life…

FALSE: Being a stay at home mom is easy.

TRUTH FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC:
Take a moment to search Twitter for “stay a home mom is easy”. This will bring up a never ending list of tweets about the subject. Most of them include something about being physically and mentally exhausted, many of them talk about mom guilt when they think about going back to work, and most seem to apologize to the general public about ever saying that it was an easy job.

MY TRUTH:
Being a stay at home mom technically isn’t a hard thing. What is hard is that it is a 24/7 job for the rest of your life and the moment you think you’ve got it figured out, your child reaches some new milestone that turns your once comfortable daily routine upside down.

REMEDY:
— Take things day by day.
— Take some “Me Time”. If you can’t take care of you, then you won’t be able to take care of them.
— Love your children. No matter what they do, if you love them nothing you face or they face can be that bad.
— Rest easy by knowing that every other mom on the planet is struggling in one way or another. You’re not alone in the chaos of every day life.

I’m Patty Gordon, a 40+ year old school lunch lady married to a crane mechanic. Our days are anything but normal as he works “construction worker hours” and I take care of our two elementary school aged kids, Chihuahua Mr Biggs, Pitbull Cali, and French Bulldog MooMoo. I blogged a few years ago under different names but have landed with the 365MomMe.com name this time around. The term 365MomMe comes from the idea that I’m a mom and I’m me 365 days a year. Kids call me Mommy but I see myself as MomMe.
