Read Across America

March 2nd is Read Across America day. Last year I didn’t celebrate it on the blog because I was working on my 21 Read To Me Books for Spring project.

Read Across America Day is held annually on a school day closest to March 2nd each year. The day promotes reading for children. The popular children’s author Dr. Seuss had his birthday on March 2nd thus original planers of the holiday wanted it to be near his birthday. The National Education Association (NEA) was one of the main backers of this idea to have a special day to promote reading among the population and especially children.

Let’s celebrate this year by share some of Dr Seuss’s books with our Littles!

I hope you enjoy the books as much as my children and I have!

I’m Patty Gordon, a 40+ year old school lunch lady married to a crane mechanic. Our days are anything but normal as he works “construction worker hours” and I take care of our two elementary school aged kids, Chihuahua Mr Biggs, Pitbull Cali, and French Bulldog MooMoo. I blogged a few years ago under different names but have landed with the 365MomMe.com name this time around. The term 365MomMe comes from the idea that I’m a mom and I’m me 365 days a year. Kids call me Mommy but I see myself as MomMe.
