Weight issues are a common worry this time of year. A few years ago I dropped down under 200 for the first time since college. It was definitely a lot of work and took a lot of planning, but it happened.
Since then I’ve been consumed with other things and have gained more weight than I carried when I was 9 months pregnant. It’s not a daily worry for me, but I am like a lot of us moms. Suddenly we see a picture of ourselves and realize that the weight has gone on and we don’t know how we got to this point.
I know that 2020 was hard for all of us, with Corona flying around and distance learning being the norm, but one of my goals for 2021 is to be more consistent with my health goals.
This year ultimately I want to lose 50 lbs. That’s about a pound a week until December 31, 2021. Doesn’t that sound so much easier to handle than 50 lbs total?
I know I can do this because I’ve made a plan. I’m going to workout 300 times this year. Notice I said times and not days. That way if I do two workouts or activities in one day I can make sure to count multiple events!
Is there something you’re wanting to do in 2021?
My best advice is to:
- Write it down.
- Make a simple plan to make it happen.
Even if the plan is just to set a date for something to happen, start with that. You can always add to your plan later to make it happen.
For instance. Now that I know my big number, I can pick out 300 things I want to do in 2021 that will count as workouts. I love golf and bike riding and walking and I happen to have a Beachbody membership with access to online workouts. With all those resources I can’t NOT achieve my goal!
Let me know if you need help with your goal! I may not be able to help you make it happen, but I’ll be the first one to cheer you on as you attempt it!
