One of my goals this year is to read the whole bible. Today I was listing to my reading plan on my app and Luke 8:10 spoke to me…

“He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, “ ‘though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.’”

The last part got to me. Not as a religious comment about Gods word but about communication in general. People may be seeing and hearing you but you never know if they are really understanding you.
In parenting this is true when raising your kids. In education is can be the teacher student relationship and in marriage relationships it’s applicable for interacting with with your spouse.
Communication is not only what you’re saying but what people are hearing. It makes it very important to realize that what you say might not be what they are hearing.
