Encourage multiculturalism

Growing up in a military family I was always encouraged to try new foods and I’m continuing that tradition with my own children.

While my kids are wildly adventurous about food there is a spark of light in their eyes when they try new things.

Sushi happens to be a treat in our family and we’ve moved from more traditional California rolls to rolls that have fish eggs on them and other fish slices atop them.

Yesterday we went to La Michoacán Plus a new desert/food spot in our town. They serve amazing Mexican treats that my husband and kids and I have all fallen in love with!

My favorite thing to eat is a Mangonada. It’s Mango Ice Cream with mango pieces, Chamoy sauce and mango candies. It looks spicy. But really it’s the perfect mix of sweet/sour/spicy that has my taste buds going nuts!

I highly recommend you take your kids to a place like this. My son got a strawberry slushy thing, daughter got a watermelon popsicle and my husband got a corn dish and some nachos. The best part is that it wasn’t too expensive!

I’m Patty Gordon, a 40+ year old school lunch lady married to a crane mechanic. Our days are anything but normal as he works “construction worker hours” and I take care of our two elementary school aged kids, Chihuahua Mr Biggs, Pitbull Cali, and French Bulldog MooMoo. I blogged a few years ago under different names but have landed with the 365MomMe.com name this time around. The term 365MomMe comes from the idea that I’m a mom and I’m me 365 days a year. Kids call me Mommy but I see myself as MomMe.
