Today’s prompt I have to spark my creativity is to share about something person and fun you have coming up. Seems like a pretty easy assignment, but today I’m having trouble getting my words together.
While I’m sure that all parents are wishing for normalcy, considering the last year, for me it’s the future sport schedules we have in front of us. Opening Day last year was such a special moment and it got twisted and tainted by the end of the seasons.
Baseball teams are forming now and softball is firming up the spring and summer seasons. Football is still on hold, but there seems to at least be a light at the end of the tunnel.
I want to be able to watch my kids run around and have success again with their friends, with their team. I’ve always longed for a place on a team as a kid where I totally fit in and I don’t think I ever truly found that. My kids have and I want them to experience as much of those golden moments in time as they can.
Last seasons got cut short and football never happened. While I can’t fix the 2020 disaster, the 2021 seasons will mean so much more to them and to me. Returning to normal and this sense of looking forward to the coming weeks is nice, but I can’t wait until they are on the field playing their sports!
Tentatively, May 1, will be the 2021 season starter. My son will be already on the fields, but my daughter’s first scheduled tournament is that weekend and I can’t wait to be there for it!
What are you looking forward to in the coming months?

Wow that’s definitely something to look forward to! I’m looking forward to my semester ending and getting a bit of a break lol 😆
School ending is going to be nice too. My kids are going to be switching to private school next year so we have three weeks of extra vacation because public school starts in August and their school will start in September.
My daughter actually just came in and told me she can’t wait for spring break. It starts on Friday so she’s looking forward to having some sleepovers with her friends.
