A foolproof guide to 21 Fun Workout Videos for Kids

One of the great side effects of COVID is that home workouts have become more available to people who have been social distancing.  I know that my kids PE teachers have done a lot of things online, so I went in search of some great workouts for kids.  These workouts are great for staying healthy or just taking up some time on a rainy day!

Warm Up

The warmup is an important part of your workout routine and shouldn’t be ignored.  Benefits of warming up are:

  • They help to increase body and muscle temperature 
  • You’ll reduce your risk of injury
  • They can help you to mentally prepare 
  • You’ll increase your flexibility, which will help with other exercise 
  • You’ll be ready to tackle the heavy-duty machines at the gym 

The Daily Warmup Video for Virtual PE Class is done by a PE teacher who definitely has your kids in mind when he’s doing this warmup.

Dance

Most kids like to dance.  It’s hard to stand still when some great music starts to play.

While I think of Zumba as a more MomMe friendly type of exercise, here is a great little workout for kids that only lasts two minutes, but will get them moving.

Ballet

Ballet is more than just tutu and toes shoes.

Gymnastics

Most little kids love gymnastics.  Here are some gymnastics inspired workouts for your little ones…

This is a great one led by a little girl who clearly has taken lessons and helps little ones learn stretches.

The second is a coach led workout for little ones that don’t include any real gymnastics moves but help with flexibility and conditioning.

Yoga

TABATA

You might have heard of it, but do you know what it is?

Tabata training is one of the most popular forms of high-intensity interval training (HIIT). It consists of eight rounds of ultra-high-intensity exercises in a specific 20-seconds-on, 10-seconds-off interval. Ask The Ripped Dude: What The Heck Is Tabata Training?

The Avengers Characters take kids through a workout.  Be aware that there isn’t a warm up on this one.

Conditioning

Conditioning training typically refers to being conditioned for a sport.  For most people it means working on your endurance and agility that will help you play the sports you’re involved in easier.

This is a great full workout with warmup that is soccer inspired.

While this isn’t specifically for conditioning, this Line Jump Workout gets you a great cardio workout without much effort.

“Weight” Workout

Using what is around you is a great way to do a workout.  For someone who onl might have a backpack with them checkout this backpack workout!

HIIT Workouts

Warming Up and Cooling down are really important for when you workout.
