Without this you’d still be in the hospital parking lot

While my own word of the year consistent has gotten me this far into the year successfully, I came across a word the other day while listening to one of my 365 Podcasts A Year that I didn’t think I emulated. However, I found myself realizing that this word is part of my unconscious every day life:

Decisive

able to make decisions quickly and confidently, or showing this quality

Decisive is the last word that I would consider a way to describe the way I act as a mother, but really it totally describes the way all mothers are. You wake up in the morning and are instantly thrust into the responsibility for keeping other human beings alive. Even before your feet hit the bed you know you have to make quick and firm decisions about breakfasts, schedules, laundry, upkeep of the house, guiding your children and with many how to be a successful wife alone with all the other things you do.

Without decisive decisions you’d probably never have gotten your kid home from the hospital. Decisive is the way you took those first few turns out of the parking lot with baby in tow and ended up at your house without getting into an accident!

Little things that don’t seem like decisions have lead you up to this moment. Without decisiveness you’d still be in the parking lot of the hospital worrying about how to get home.

So what’s my point in this slightly jumbled post?

To prove a point to you that you are a decisive person. Life lesson for this week is that you are someone who gets things done even when you think you’re drowning in the day to day, things are happening, so keep that chin up and power through!

I’ll be over here doing the same thing!

I’m Patty Gordon, a 40+ year old school lunch lady married to a crane mechanic. Our days are anything but normal as he works “construction worker hours” and I take care of our two elementary school aged kids, Chihuahua Mr Biggs, Pitbull Cali, and French Bulldog MooMoo. I blogged a few years ago under different names but have landed with the 365MomMe.com name this time around. The term 365MomMe comes from the idea that I’m a mom and I’m me 365 days a year. Kids call me Mommy but I see myself as MomMe.
