Spilling the Tea on All Things Motherhood

It’s not surprising that a mommy blogger would pay attention to moms on the mommy facebook groups. I recently did a post of common sense things moms should know in 2021 and I got a great reception from readers. Lately I keep seeing the same questions coming up so I thought I’d throw a few MomMe motherhood tips out there for you.

  1. You don’t get an award for having a natural or medicated birth. Do what feels right to you. The tip I do know is that if you are planning to do an epidural, let them know the minute you get to the hospital. Theory is that if there are C-sections going on that the anesthesiologist will be working those cases and sometimes it can take up to an hour to get to you so plan ahead.
  2. If your kid is too skinny or too fat according to your mother or mother in law…take your concerns to the kids’ pediatrician. Most likely neither of these very seasoned women (mother or mother in law) has a doctor title attached to their name and their opinions are just that: opinions.
  3. Babies don’t sleep through the night normally for a long time into their lives. People seem to forget that there is no night or day in the womb so babies are born with no sense of time! Try to set a schedule with them and try to be more active in the day than in the night. They will get it eventually!

BONUS:

  • When your kiddo starts to try to crawl out of their clothes and their diaper, take a set of pajamas that zip up. If they have feet on them cut the feet off. Put your kid into the pajamas backwards with the zipper on their backside instead of the tummy. They are essentially locked into their pajamas until you unzip them when the sun comes up!

I hope you find some value in the tips I provided.

Have you started your 52 Life Lessons list for this year? I bet one of these tips would fit on your list!

Feel free to share them with other MomMes you know! Comment on this post and share your own tips! MomMes definitely need to stick together!

I’m Patty Gordon, a 40+ year old school lunch lady married to a crane mechanic. Our days are anything but normal as he works “construction worker hours” and I take care of our two elementary school aged kids, Chihuahua Mr Biggs, Pitbull Cali, and French Bulldog MooMoo. I blogged a few years ago under different names but have landed with the 365MomMe.com name this time around. The term 365MomMe comes from the idea that I’m a mom and I’m me 365 days a year. Kids call me Mommy but I see myself as MomMe.
