Trying to figure out how to navigate the blogging world and being a mommy blogger can be a bit tricky at first. There are so many pages of advice on how to be a better blogger or specifically a mommy blogger.
It’s not a secret that I’m still trying to figure out my blog’s niche.
As I move my focus to something a little more organized I hope to cover a lot more things. Just know though that my aim in my posts and what I think makes for great mommy blogs are the following:
Honesty
As much as I love all versions of mommy blogs the ones I go back to time and time again are the ones that are honest about what is going on in their lives.
Yes I’ll look at your perfect pictures but I want to know that your toddler got mud on their shirt so they are wearing a different one than originally planned and the dog was barking while you were talking it and the baby was crying and not smiling.
I want to see “your mess” and how you fix it. We all learn from our mistakes and messes and finding solutions to things that frustrate us all is the best way to win me over.
Bring on the funny!
Sarcasm and jokes are the only way to get through this crazy mom life.
Even in the most serious moments I have to be able to relieve the tension with a laugh or I’ll go crazy!
Share the spotlight
This one is something I’m going to work on more this year. I want people to read my blog of course but if I can lead someone to another mom who has helpful advice or recipes or hacks then I’m definitely going to share the wealth!
So, how can you inspire your audience?
Let’s all be a little more honest, bring on the funny, and share the spotlight.
Be sure to comment with your favorite bloggers below and post your blog address as well and I’ll be sure to check out your site!
