Quote of the Day Podcast

Words of wisdom come in many forms and show up usually just when you need them.

I spent last night watching the movie The Secret on Netflix. If you haven’t seen it, the movie is a heart warming movie illustrating the belief of the law of attraction, which claims that thoughts can change a person’s life directly.

Do you believe in the idea that one’s positive thoughts are powerful magnets that attract wealth, health, happiness? I can’t say for sure, but I know that when I’m positive about things, those other things seem to fall into place either, or maybe I just focus on the good instead of the bad.

Now, yes, this movie is super cheesy and one step up from a Hallmark movie. Katie Holmes looks old to me in this film and distracted me a little because all of a sudden Joey from Dawson’s Creek is the mother of a 16 year old (in the movie), but the idea of thinking positively and thinking about your goals and what you want is something we all need to do more of.

Especially as a mom who seems to spin my wheels a lot, goals are something I need to focus more one. I get side tracked so often by a toxic level of negativity that seems to creep into my life. It’s not normally me that is negative, but for some reason the negative things seem to have such a bigger effect on my day to day life than I notice the positive things lately.

In this line of thinking… this morning more words of wisdom came my way in the form of the quote of the day…

The only thing between you and accomplishing what you want to accomplish is you.

Bill Proctor

If you want you can listen to Bill Proctor in his own voice here.

Clearly the universe is telling me that I need to get myself into gear. I need to plan and think about what I want and go out and get it! So far I’m working on a planner to get things done but now I need to work on a schedule to get it all done.

What goals are in your future?

What are you doing now to make sure that they happen?

I’m Patty Gordon, a 40+ year old school lunch lady married to a crane mechanic. Our days are anything but normal as he works “construction worker hours” and I take care of our two elementary school aged kids, Chihuahua Mr Biggs, Pitbull Cali, and French Bulldog MooMoo. I blogged a few years ago under different names but have landed with the 365MomMe.com name this time around. The term 365MomMe comes from the idea that I’m a mom and I’m me 365 days a year. Kids call me Mommy but I see myself as MomMe.
