38 Interesting Questions To Ask Your Mom Right Now is becoming a saga now. Part of me thinks I need to write my memoirs. I know I’d have some good stories to tell, but I feel like being in my 40s is too soon to put out my life’s story, right?
Anyway… here are more of my answers:

25. (If she got married): What was your wedding day like?
My parents got married in Germany and have two wedding anniversaries. One day is when they had their church wedding and celebration. They were fully on 1970s wedding bride and groom with a twist that my dad was a tanker in the military at the time and they rode on his tank from the church to the reception. I never would have thought this was true but there are pictures to prove it! The other was when they got married in the German version of a court house wedding to make it official being that it happened in a different country.
My husband and I got married on on December 30 in the court house. My parents weren’t there because they were living out of state but it was a nice little ceremony with my grandmother and brother’s family and my husbands mother and her family. Part of me wishes that we’d done the whole big party thing, but really for the two of us, we used that money to put a down payment down on our house and have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of owning a home when a lot of people I know haven’t been able to do that.
My wedding meal consisted of Mexican lunch at our favorite place and I think some Carl’s Jr after we spent the afternoon with our families. My wedding dress was a blue dress that I got at old navy. I probably should have kept it for sentimental sake, but I have no idea where that thing ended up. My “after wedding shoes” as I call them turned out to be some fur-lined crocs that I bought at Walgreens because the dress shoes I wore tore my feet to pieces. One thing I really was happy about was that they wrote Just Married on the back window of our car. Not quite the amazing party atmosphere but that was something I did take a picture of and get a big smile from when I see it.
26. What’s the worst fight you ever had with my dad?
I don’t ever remember a time where my parents fought so I don’t think I have enough experience to fight my own husband. We have our yelling matches and all of that, but really I don’t think either one of each other can stay mad at each other very long. It’s actually magic I think because we come from two very different worlds and the fact that we can get along as well as we do seems almost impossible if you were to look at our stats on paper.
