Being older it’s time to learn to spring break like a pro 365MomMe!

When it comes to planning a spring break for kindergarten age kids and younger, it’s essential for 365mommies to focus on activities that cater to their needs while allowing parents to relax and enjoy some downtime. Unlike the college crowd that flocks to Lake Havasu or Miami Beach, families with young children seek a more kid-friendly and budget-conscious experience. In this article, we’ll explore some delightful options for a memorable spring break.

The Significance of Spring Break:

Spring break, originally established in the 1930s in the United States, has now become a widely observed vacation period in various countries. While college students head to popular beach destinations, parents with younger children view this time as an opportunity to recharge and end the school year on a positive note.

Planning a Kid-Friendly Spring Break:

Recently, while sipping my morning coffee, I contemplated options for my 5 and 3-year-old who still require a lot of assistance. With my husband working all week and a family wedding on the horizon, local activities seemed like the best choice.

Options ranged from Gilroy Gardens, a local amusement park, to the zoo, both requiring some planning. Alternatively, a visit to grandma’s house offered a cost-effective and heartwarming option. The luxury of a week without alarms was enticing.

Enjoyable Spring Break Activities:

Our spring break wasn’t extravagant, but it was filled with meaningful moments. An Easter party with family, a visit to my grandmother’s, and a Karate Kid Tae Kwon Do lesson were highlights. A birthday party and a day at the local OHV park for motorcycle riding rounded out the week, providing cherished memories.

Looking Ahead:

As the school year rushes towards its end, we anticipate field trips, a picture session, and a “kindergarten graduation.” The schedule promises to be busier than expected, but with the new school calendar in hand, planning for next year’s break has already begun.

While some may argue that I didn’t spring break like a pro, my measure of success is simple: my children had a wonderful time, and we all emerged from the break with fond memories.
